Product test thread holder

Yarn tension is a major problem for many knitters with joint pain or restricted movement in their hands and fingers. Community member Britta E. tested the Crochetobe.

This plastic thread holder – Crochetobe (advertising link) – is a good help especially when crocheting – but not for everyone. Britta E. writes: “At first I was skeptical as to whether such a rather large aid might be more of a hindrance than a help, but you adjust the thread tension with the wheel at the top and then the thread holder lies completely relaxed in your hand. You place your index finger very loosely in the recess provided and can then hold the crochet with your thumb and index finger without tensing up. The material also makes the holder very light.”

Beatrix B. didn’t get on so well with the thread holder. You can see her video here.

Britta K. has also tested the thread holder and comes to the following conclusion: “Of course, it’s much more tedious than if I just use my index finger as usual. But if you can’t use your index finger or it hurts, I can imagine that you can get used to working by hand with this aid, especially when crocheting.”
